Kool-Aid Popsicles

I was thinking about my mother the other day and it reminded me of things she would do during the summer. She would make Kool-Aid Popsicles. When it was hot outside this was one of my favorite treats. It’s easy to do and it costs little money. If you have 7 kids like my mother you learn to be thrifty and creative.

Materials:

Ice cube tray

Favorite flavor of Kool-Aid

Toothpicks

Foil

Instructions:

Make Kool-Aid according to package.

Next pour Kool-Aid slowly into the ice cube tray.

Cover tray with foil.

After you get the tray covered. Take a toothpick and punch a hole inside each ice cube.

Put the ice cube tray into the freezer. It will take about an hour or longer for ice cubes to form.

When the Kool-Aid freezes take cubes out and eat. Toothpicks can poke you a little when your eating so be careful and make sure to dispose of your toothpicks so no one gets hurt.

Recipe: Homemade Pizza

Homemade pizza is so easy to make, very cheap and super yummy. It only takes about 15 minutes to prepare and about another 15 to cook it.

My family loves homemade pizza and my 5 year old loves to help make it. We have so much fun putting the toppings on and rolling out the dough. It a great recipe to get the kids involved.

Ingredients:

Pizza sauce

Pizza crust (envelopes)

Water

Flour

Cookie sheet

Toppings -  (your choice)

Cheese (cheddar, mozzarella or your favorites)

Pepperoni or Canadian bacon

Olives

Pineapple

Tomatoes

Peppers

Directions:

Make crust according to package. If dough is to sticky add flour. If it’s to dry add more water.

Spread crust out on cookie sheet using your hands. If a hole shows up spread around the dough a little to close it up. Poke holes with fork all over dough.

Bake according to directions.

Take out of oven and add toppings. Pizza sauce, everything else and then top with cheese.

Cook according to package or until lightly brown and cheese is melted.

Recipe: Tuna Sandwiches and Deviled Eggs

Easter is over and you probably have a ton of those hard-boiled eggs left over. I decided I would try to find some ways to use mine instead of throwing them away. Here are some ways to use them up.

Tuna Sandwiches

Ingredients:
1 can of tuna
¾ cup mayo or salad dressing
2 tablespoons of dill relish
2 hard-boiled eggs chopped

Directions;
Mix all ingredients in a bowl together. Spread on bread. Makes 4 sandwiches.

Extras:
You can add tomato, avocado slices, mustard or bacon to the sandwich as well.

Deviled Eggs

Ingredients:
6 Hard-boiled eggs
¼ cup mayo or salad dressing
¼ cup mustard
2 tablespoons sugar
paprika

Directions:
Cut eggs in half lengthwise. Take yoke out and add into a boil.

Use a fork and mash the yokes up. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix it together. (may need to add more to your liking) You can use a blender to make it smooth.

Spoon the mixture into the eggs.

Sprinkle with paprika. Top with sliced olives if you like.

Here are some other ways to enjoy your eggs. Add them to your salad or eat them with a little salt and pepper.
